1952
Eiji Igarashi first establishes a private company at Konya-cho,
Kawasaki for the sales and production of DC motors.
1956
In
accordance with increases in sales, the company is reorganized
as a limited company and founded as Igarashi Electric Works
Ltd.
1956
Igarashi Electric
first begins exporting motors to the United States.
1961
Main factory and head office constructed in Tode-honcho,
Kawasaki.
1962
Igarashi
Electric develops sub-fractional horsepower motors and controllers
for use with model racing cars.
1967
Agreement
signed with the International Components Corporation of America
to act as the sales agent for the sale of all Igarashi Electric
products abroad. Company develops industrial-use motors.
1971
Company develops
a new model of 35mm low voltage motor series for use in grass
clippers and battery powered equipment.
1972
Plant
established in the city of Kashiwazaki in Niigata Prefecture.
1973
Igarashi Electric
Works (H.K.) Ltd. plant established in Hong Kong. Company
develops automotive motors.
1975
Company
develops DC motors and DC gear motors for use with power tools.
1976
Company develops
motors for use with instant cameras.
1977
Company
develops motors for use with office automation systems.
1978
Korea I.G. Motor
Co., Ltd. established as a joint venture in the Republic of
South Korea.
1984
Sale of motor
plant to company in the city of Tientsin in the People's Republic
of China. Igarashi Electric Works (Heng Gang) Factory plant
established in the People's Republic of China.
1985
Production division
of Hong Kong plant moved to Chinese plant.
1987
Company develops
motors for use with AC power sources.
1993
CG Igarashi
Motors Ltd. established in Madras, India as a joint venture
with Compton Greaves.
1994
Operations begin
at second plant in Kashiwazaki, Japan. CG Igarashi Motors,
Ltd. is awarded ISO 9000.
1995
CG Igarashi
Motors, Ltd. is awarded QS 9000.
1997
Igarashi Electric
Works (H.K.) Ltd. and Heng Gang China Factory awarded ISO
9002.
